On November 12, 2025 at 3pm Central Time, Hurtado Zimmerman SC Attorney and Shareholder, Bryan Kroes, will moderate the CLE program “Unlocking Music Royalties: What Lawyers Need to Know About the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC).” Together with Prof. Serena Elton (Mechanical Licensing Collective) and Attorney Heidi Thole (Reinhart Boerner van Deuren), this program will explore how lawyers can help clients uncover and collect all the royalties they’re owed. Attorneys will learn about traditional and emerging income sources and take a deep dive into the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC)—the nonprofit established under the Music Modernization Act to administer digital mechanical licenses and distribute royalties to songwriters and publishers.
